This Morning presenter Eamonn Holmes was left a little red-faced during a recent broadcast when his brother called him – not knowing he was at work.

As today (May 8) is a Friday and a Bank Holiday in honour of VE Day, Holmes and co-presenter (and his wife) Ruth Langsford took over the ITV morning show from main hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby to offer up news updates to viewers and interview guests remotely.

While on air in front of the entire nation, the 60-year-old explained: "It's amazing what happens. I've just had a phone call from my brother who, after 15 years of me doing this show, has no idea that I'm on the telly on Friday. "He called me up to talk football.
