TV hosts Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard couldn't contain their excitement on Tuesday 10 December as they shared some heartwarming baby news on This Morning, interrupting the show to celebrate the arrival of deputy editor Emma Dagnell's second child. The presenting duo were thrilled to announce that little Arthur Jude Dagnell had been born, with Cat, a mum-of-two herself, saying: "Our This Morning family has just got a little bit bigger, we are very happy to announce that our deputy editor Emma and her husband Andrew have just welcomed the beautiful Arthur Jude Dagnell." Ben, who also has two children with his wife Annie, chimed in with praise for the name, adding: "What a gorgeous name," and shared more details: "Arthur was born last Monday, weighing 7lbs and 1 ounce." He also mentioned that both mother and baby are doing well and that Arthur is already bonding with his sister Mia.
Cat, clearly smitten, said: "I want to give him a munch and a bit of a sniff at the same time," as viewers were shown adorable photos of Arthur with his sister and another of him swaddled in a grey blanket.
However, not all moments of the programme were met with such warmth, as some viewers expressed their disapproval on social media over Cat's on-air antics, which included a playful dance in a swimsuit adorned with Ben's face.
The ITV presenter, after joking around with Tipping Point's Ben Shephard about a quirky gift from her colleague Josie Gibson at the Christmas Party — a swimsuit adorned with Ben's face — joked to the audience that she'd slip into it later in the show.
