It was never going to be easy hosting an international awards show during lockdown but even still the BAFTAs had more than their fair share of bloopers and awkward moments.
Hosts Dermot O’Leary and Edith Bowman got the BBC production off to a shaky start when Edith fluffed her opening lines. Then there were some pretty obvious no-shows from Anthony Hopkins and Frances McDormand while the canned laughter went down like a lead balloon.
There was also fury over some omissions on the tributes list to stars who had passed away but perhaps the best awkward moment was South Korean actress Youn Yuh-Jungraising raising a few eyebrows when she called the British snobbish.
