Four destinations within a two hour drive of Greater Manchester have been named among the best towns and villages to visit in the UK.
More than 9,000 Which? members were asked to rate inland places they had visited, scoring them on factors such as food and drink, scenery, tourist attractions and more.
Wells in Somerset came out on top with an overall score of 83per cent, impressing visitors with its history and medieval architecture.
Avebury in Wiltshire closely followed with a score of 82 per cent. Model village Port Sunlight was the highest-ranked northern destination, coming in joint third with Corfe Castle in Devon, with a score of 80 per cent.
