Officers say 19 converter thefts on residential streets have been reported in the borough since February, marking a concerning uptick.Thieves are targeting 'predominantly Toyotas' along with some Kia and Hondas.The crimes are typically carried out by a gang of 'three to four men' who arrive in a car.Vehicles seen being used by the group include a silver Vauxhall Astra, an Audi and a Ford Mondeo.Police are appealing for anyone with information to report suspicious activity.In a statement, Greater Manchester Police's Bolton West neighbourhood team said: "There has been an increase in theft from motor vehicle crimes targeting catalytic converters."There have been 19 of these crimes reported in.
