A BMW was believed to have been involved in a collision with another car in High Street, Brownhills, at around 4pm on Sunday - before striking the baby's pram which was being pushed along the pavement by family.
The baby was rushed to hospital but West Midlands Police said nothing could be done to save him. A relative suffered a shoulder injury but nobody else was injured, Birmingham Live reports.
