Tenants who are renting a home in three areas of Greater Manchester are now having to pay 'hundreds more' each month than they were last year.
Three parts of the region have now been named amongst the top 20 UK areas with the biggest rent price increases, according to new data.
The latest figures from the Office for National Statistics have revealed that private renters in England paid an average of £1,369 a month in the last 12 months.
That’s up by 9.2 percent compared to a year earlier, and means people had to find an extra £115 a month on average. Trafford and Stockport have seen the biggest rent hikes across Greater Manchester, with the average cost of rent in both boroughs rising by 14.4 percent.
