Storm Eowyn has gripped the UK today as its ‘life-threatening’ winds sweep across the country. The storm’s deadly superfast winds of 80 to 90mph and up to 100mph are the equivalent of Category 1 and Category 2 hurricane force winds.
The explosive ‘bomb cyclone’ will bring deadly winds, heavy rain and snow to parts of the UK, marking the worst storm of the season so far.

This exceeds the previous record set in 1961 during Hurricane Debbie, with forecasters warning Storm Éowyn could be the ‘storm of the century’.
