It's known for being a pretty Peak District town with charming Victorian architecture. But Buxton, in High Peak in Derbyshire, isn't known for being particularly cool.
That could all be about to change. Introducing Manchester based company, Capital&Centric, who plan to spearhead a £100 million reboot of Buxton town centre.
The company was recently confirmed as the development partner for the project to regenerate the spa town. They plan to repurpose the 1980s shopping centre The Springs, and bring in new homes, workspaces, bars and cafes.
Capital&Centric, known for creating trendy developments like Kampus and Weir Mill in Greater Manchester, said they were drawn to Buxton because of the ‘incredible beauty of the architecture’ and the ‘heritage offer that Buxton has’.
