Over 50 Members of Parliament have declared that they have no confidence in Commons Speaker Sir Lindsay Hoyle following last night's decision.

Dozens of Conservative and SNP MPS have backed a motion demanding the removal of Sir Hoyle from the seat. He caused controversy when broke convention and allowed a Labour amendment that called for an "immediate humanitarian ceasefire" that must be observed by "all sides".

The plan was passed without a vote which led to SNP MPs storming out of the chamber and the Government announcing it would boycott proceedings.
