Robbie Fowler can see similarities with Manchester United and the Liverpool side he played in, and believes Ralf Rangnick can make a similar impact to Gerard Houllier.
Rangnick arrived at Old Trafford with United reeling from a dismal run of results which ultimately cost Ole Gunnar Solskjaer his job as manager.
Since then, though, United have rediscovered some form, with Rangnick winning both of his Premier League games in charge so far.
The German will, of course, remain in charge until the end of the season on an interim basis, and has been backed to transform his new club’s fortunes before moving into a consultancy role.
