UK drama The Gathering was the big winner at the Golden Nymph Awards, which were announced at the closing ceremony of the Monte Carlo TV Festival.

The series won the Golden Nymph for Best Series and triumphed in both acting categories; Eva Morgan scooped Best Actress and Warren Brown Best Actor.

The World Productions’ drama centers on a violent attack on a teenage girl during an all-night rave. It won over the Festival’s fiction jury, which was headed by Seal Team star David Boreanaz.

Rachel Griffiths’ New Zealand-set drama Madam won Best Creation. It follows Mack, a woman who discovers her husband is seeing a sex worker, which sets off a chain of events that sees her setting up an ethical brothel.
