An award-winning pub in Cheshire has retained its title of 'Pub of the Year' for the second year running. The Lodge Inn, a quaint pub in the town of Alsager, has won the CAMRA award thanks to its owners Sarah and Carl Smith.

The married couple have been running The Lodge Inn for almost three years, and one of the ways they give back to their customers is by offering them a free cheese board.

Every Sunday, Sarah and Carl put cheese and crackers out on the bar for punters to help themselves to. The board is made up of 'all sorts of cheese' from brie to stilton, and there are a variety of crackers on offer.

Once the board has been cleared, Sarah and Carl will bring out more throughout the day to make sure there's plenty to go around. READ MORE: The Greater Manchester vegan bakers vying to be Aldi's Next Big Thing The couple will attend a presentation for the CAMRA awards in May.
