Sat on the side of the M61 heading north from Greater Manchester, Botany Bay was a vast shopping and leisure complex that boasted so many activities, including a huge children's play area.
Based in a former mill beside the Leeds Liverpool Canal in Chorley, it was easy to get to and still a journey many remember fondly.
The iconic five-storey mill, dating back to 1885, was converted into a shopping centre in 1995, selling everything from clothing and gifts to furniture.
