Bullish Willie Miller has urged Aberdeen to push Rangers for a bumper compensation fee after snapping up Connor Barron - after the Dons didn't get "much first-team payback" from the academy graduate.
Philippe Clement snapped up the Scotland under-21 cap on freedom of contract earlier this month amid his major overhaul of the Ibrox dressing room - with Aberdeen now due a payout for the star after he knocked back a new Pittodrie deal to sign a four-year contract at Rangers.
The Light Blues made an offer of around £500,000 but it is nowhere near Aberdeen's valuation - with chief executive Alan Burrows stating that the Dons were prepared for a Scottish Professional Football League tribunal to decide the fee.
Miller reckons that £500,000 should be the starting point for talks as he called for the Reds to push for a big fee that could then be splashed on bringing through another first-team star.
