A Tesco delivery driver has revealed the woest part of the job and opened up what is the most dreaded shopper phrase.Documentary maker Paul Lang joined the supermarket chain in July 2020 as lockdown meant he couldn't make films.However, the 54-year-old describes his experience as a "privilege" and says it's made him appreciate the people who do jobs we all take for granted.His new career really opened his eyes the last 18 months and he's come across some weird and wonderful things including a man in his 80s wearing a baffling outfit and he's also discovered the four-word phrase that all delivery drivers absolutely detest.He's turned his experiences into a book, From Hollywood to Cricklewood: Delivering during a Pandemic. "You have a unique window into someone’s life - it’s humbling, funny, sad, frustrating and a real privilege", he told The Sun. "One time a man in his eighties answered the door wearing rubber gloves, a face mask, a transparent apron and old flip flops held onto his feet by parcel tape – and nothing else.
I didn’t quite know where to look."But for Paul, the worst part of the job is checking a customer's delivery details and seeing a certain phrase.He said: "When you find it’s up four floors with no lift and you have 10 trays of food your heart sinks - I do dread the words, “4th Floor, No Lift". "The same thing happens with water - gallons of it.
Opening the van and seeing I have lots of trays of water does make your head drop as it’s so heavy."He says London traffic and stressed out drivers also make the job tough, but says he doesn't rush.And his biggest request to future customers?
