A terrified mum grabbed her young daughters and fled their home after waking up to find her bed engulfed in flames. Zoe Nolan, 25, says she has been left with nothing after the devastating blaze broke out on Clovenstone Gardens in Edinburgh at around 5am on Sunday, July 7.
The single mum and her daughters Aria, 5, and Laila, 3, managed to escape but Zoe suffered burns to her feet and is now living with her mum until alternative accommodation is found.Fire crews were at the scene within three minutes and investigations have since found the inferno was sparked by an electrical fault.Zoe told Edinburgh Live: "I woke up to my bed on fire while I was still in it on Sunday morning.
I hit a deep sleep at around 3am and that's when I awakened to see my bed in flames. The fire alarm was going off and I don’t know how I didn’t hear it instantly.
It felt like a dream and I couldn’t make sense of it."I ran to my daughters room and they were in bed covering their ears, I phoned 999 instantly.
