Ten people were assessed by medics after they were 'exposed to an unknown substance' at Longsight police station. Emergency services swarmed the station on Grindlow Street, just off Stockport Road, earlier today (Thursday).
Multiple ambulance vehicles, including an incident response unit and Hazardous Area Response Team, as well as a fire engine were pictured outside the building.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said emergency crews responded to reports of a 'suspicious item'. The item was assessed, with 'no risk identified'. They did not require any further treatment, a spokesperson for NWAS added. Police said the incident at the station is now 'closed' with no threat to the wider community.
