The 18-year-old arrived at Salford Royal Hospital with wounds to his chest on Monday evening. He remains in a stable condition, GMP said.

Police are still trying to establish precisely what occurred and the location of the shooting. The victim lives and has friends in the Eccles area and is believed to have been at an address in Ordsall after the shooting.

Police have now established he was shot with a handgun and was driven to the hospital by a friend. The pair arrived at hospital at 9.40pm on Monday.
