Teenager, 15, arrested on suspicion of murder after man, 21, dies

A teenage boy has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a 21-year-old man died on Wednesday evening.Emergency services rushed to Kings Road, in Old Trafford, to reports of a disturbance around 7.45pm and found the man with serious injuries.He sadly could not be saved and was pronounced dead at the scene.Murder cops launched an investigation and say a 15-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with the incident, the Manchester Evening News reports.A 16-year-old boy has also been arrested in suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon in the nearby area.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: "Police were called to an address on Kings Road, Old Trafford at around 7.45pm this evening (Wednesday 31 May 2023) to reports of a disturbance. "The victim - a 21-year-old man -was found with serious injuries and sadly pronounced dead at the scene by first responders."A 15-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with this incident and a 16-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon in the nearby area.

They both remain in custody ahead of questioning."A cordon remains in place tonight on Kings Road, near its junction with Rostherne Avenue.

It is expected to remain in place overnight.Detective Superintendent Jane Higham added: “Firstly, my thoughts are with the victim’s family and friends at this time.
