A teenage driver was left seriously hurt after a crash on the M61. The smash happened on the northbound carriageway near Chorley at around 4.30pm yesterday (Tuesday).
Emergency services rushed to the scene after a Ford Focus collided with a Ford Kuga, then hit the central reservation and a bridge.
The driver of the Focus - a male aged in his late teens from Wesham - was rushed to hospital with a serious injury, police said.

The motorway was closed off on the northbound side between junction eight and nine until the early hours of this morning as investigations were carried out.
