Layton Williams will make Strictly Come Dancing history when he becomes the first male contestant to take to the dance floor in a dress.
It will be a first for the popular ballroom dancing competition, which has been running for nearly 20 years. The West End star, 28, who will be paired with a male professional, will appear in traditional male outfits as well as dresses, it has been revealed.
Sources say BBC bosses are thrilled that the 28-year-old will be breaking new ground on the show, the Mirror reports. One said: “Layton made it clear very early on that he didn’t want to be pinned down to just wearing male costumes.
He wanted his Strictly outfits to reflect different sides of his personality and everyone fully supports him on that."
