Teenage boy arrested after woman seriously sexually assaulted near Glasgow Hydro

A teenager has been arrested after a woman was allegedly subjected to a serious sexual assault near the Hydro in Glasgow. Police received the report of a woman allegedly being attacked in the Congress Road area of Glasgow on Friday evening.

Officers attended and the area was quickly cordoned off.On Saturday an eyewitness said: "Clydeside at the SEC Armadillo is taped off by police and a large section off bushes is cordoned off with four police officers guarding it."Police have now confirmed that a 16-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with the incident.

He has been released pending further enquiries. A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We received a report of a serious sexual assault of a woman in the Congress Road area of Glasgow on the evening of Friday, May 31, 2024.“A 16-year-old male has been arrested in connection and released pending further enquiries.
