Teen in hospital with 'serious' injuries after being hit by car on Scots road

A teen has been rushed to hospital with 'serious' injuries after being hit by a car on a Scots road. Emergency services raced to New Edinburgh Road, in Uddingston, at around 7pm on Friday, February 11.

A 15-year-old girl was hit by a black Audi car and rushed to University Hospital Wishaw for treatment. She was subsequently transferred to Glasgow's Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, where her injuries are described as serious.

Police have launched a probe and are asking anyone with information to come forward. Constable Andrew Coutts, of Motherwell Road Policing Unit, said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the crash. “I am asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash or was in the area around the time of the crash to get in touch. “I would also ask if there are any other motorists with possible dashcam footage or anyone with information that may help with our investigation to contact police.” Police can be contacted on 101, quoting incident number 3145 of 11 February.
