Man cut from car after horror crash as emergency services race to scene

A man had to be cut from a car following a horror crash on a Scots road last night. Emergency services raced to School Drive in Glenrothes after the two car smash happened at around 5.35pm on Tuesday, March 1.Police, ambulance and fire crews scrambled to the scene.

Two casualties were treated at the scene with one being extracted from the car by the fire brigade.A picture taken from the scene showed seven fire fighters frantically trying to rescue the man from the car.An ambulance can also be seen in attendance.The male driver was taken to hospital, however his injuries were thankfully not severe.A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 5.36pm on Tuesday, March 1, to reports of a collision involving two vehicles on School Drive, Glenrothes. “Operations control immediately mobilised two fire engines to the location. “Two casualties were treated at the scene, one of whom had to extracted from their car by firefighters, before being handed into the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service and taken to Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy.“Crews left the scene after ensuring the area was made safe.”A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We received a report of a crash involving two cars on School Drive, Glenrothes, around 5.35pm on Tuesday, March 1."Emergency services attended and the male driver of one of the vehicles was taken to hospital as a precaution.” Don't miss the latest news from around Scotland and beyond - Sign up to our daily newsletter here.
