Murder bid in Scots village as police launch probe into incident which left man with 'serious injuries'

P olice have launched an attempted murder probe after a man was rushed to hospital with 'serious injuries'. Two men were injured in the incident in Kirkmurihill in Lanarkshire which happened around 3.20pm on Sunday, February 27 on Dormiston Road.

One of those was a 38-year-old man who suffered "serious injuries" and was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital before being transferred to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh where his condition is described as "stable".

A 40-year-old man was also injured in the incident but has not required medical attention. Detectives are now appealing for information from the public as they investigate.Detective Sergeant Frank Donaghy of Lanarkshire CID said: “Our enquiries into this incident are ongoing and I would urge anyone with information to come forward.“We would be keen to speak to anyone who was in the area or who may have dashcam or private CCTV footage of the incident.“Anyone who can help is asked to call 101, quoting reference 2283 of 27 February, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.” Don't miss the latest news from around Scotland and beyond - Sign up to our daily newsletter here.
