Sign up today for the best stories straight to your inboxA teenager who killed her cousin in a horror crash has been spared jail after a judge said she made the "greatest apology" by pleading guilty.Lucy Barnes, 19, walked free as she "accepted criminal responsibility" for the death of her 16-year-old cousin Millie Phillips.Millie had been sitting in the back seat of black Vauxhall Corsa when she was involved in the devastating crash in 2019.Barnes pulled out of a road into the path of car travelling at 60mph, when the crash occurred on the A5 in Bugbrooke, Northants., on September 25.The teenage victim was rushed to University Hospital Coventry, where she was sadly pronounced dead from her.
