A teacher accused of sexually assaulting eight girls at school has been cleared of all charges. Anthony Hook, 62, went on trial accused of more than two dozen sexual offences against female pupils at the Greater Manchester school where he worked for almost 20 years.

A total of eight girls, age from 11 to 15, had accused Mr Hook of sexually abusing them. He was acquitted of 21 offences of having sexual activity with a child, and five offences of having sexual activity with a child under 13.
Prosecutors alleged that he had touched some of the children's hair or their shoulders, hugged them, touched their bottom, stroked their cheek or touched their thigh for his own sexual gratification.
