The startling image of a bus driving along tram tracks in Wythenshawe was published online by police this morning (Thursday March 16).
The vehicle's driver has been arrested on suspicion of various different offences. Greater Manchester Police (GMP) Traffic Officers posted a picture of the bus travelling along the tracks on its official Twitter account in the early hours of this morning (Thursday, March 16).
The post alleged that the driver was unfit to be in charge of the vehicle through drink and/or drugs. They said blood samples had been taken from the driver after he was detained.
The post at 4.31am today read: "The wheels on this bus no longer go round and round!" "Driver arrested for several [suspected] offences and blood samples taken!" added the GMP tweet.
