Beck joined The Black Keys at their most recent show in Paris for a live performance of his hit song ‘Loser’.During the band’s performance at Le Zénith in Paris on Sunday (June 18), fan-shot footage shows The Black Keys bringing out their long-time friend and collaborator Beck during the encore. “We are going to have a special friend come play a song for us, is that ok with you guys?” asks guitarist Dan Auerbach to the crowd.According to Stereogum, Beck worked with the duo on their latest album Dropout Boogie.

Dan Auerbach‘s band The Arcs have announced their first album in eight years, ‘Electrophonic Chronic’.The Black Keys frontman’s side project released their debut studio record, ‘Yours, Dreamily’, back in 2015. Its 12-track follow-up is due to arrive on January 27, 2023 via Auerbach’s own label Easy Eye Sound (pre-order here).Today (October 13), The Arcs have shared the first preview of the forthcoming project in the form of ‘Keep On Dreamin”, which arrives with an animated official video by Robert “Roboshobo” Schober.‘Electrophonic Chronic’ will also include the cuts ‘Heaven Is A Place’, ‘A Man Will Do Wrong’, ‘Backstage Mess’ and ‘Love Doesn’t Live Here Anymore’.The Arcs’ original line-up – completed by Leon Michels, Nick Movshon, Homer Steinweiss, and the late Richard Swift (who died in 2018, aged 41) – contributed to the new album, per a press release.It was recorded between Auerbach’s Easy Eye Sound studio in Nashville, Electric Lady in Manhattan, and Michels’ Diamond Mine in Queens, New York.

Michelle Branch has spoken about the dropped domestic assault charges brought against her, as well as her now-paused divorce from The Black Keys’ Patrick Carney, in an interview on The Tamron Hall Show.The episode is set to air later today (September 15) but a preview sees Branch talking about being arrested on domestic assault charges. Back in August, Branch told police officers called to her home that she had slapped Carney in the face “one or two times”. Two weeks later, the case was dismissed at the request of the state.“I don’t condone violence,” Branch told Hall.

Michelle Branch and Black Keys drummer Patrick Carney have agreed to suspend divorce proceedings for at least six months.Last month, Branch confirmed the pair had separated after three years of marriage. Shortly afterwards, it was reported that Branch had filed for divorce from Carney, citing “irreconcilable differences”.Now, as Rolling Stone reports, a court order signed on Tuesday (Wednesday 13) by a Tennessee judge states that divorce proceedings are “suspended without prejudice” for the six-month period.“During the period of suspension the parties may participate in counseling services to effectuate reconciliation and/or may resume living together as husband and wife,” the court order continues.“Their acts and conduct in doing so shall not be determined condonation of any prior misconduct and all acts or actions by the parties prior to the entry of this order shall remain and constitute grounds for divorce.”As Rolling Stone points out, to win divorce proceedings, Tennessee law requires spouses cite grounds such as adultery, abandonment or uncontested irreconcilable differences.It was reported on August 11 that Branch and Carney had separated.

The Black Keys have unveiled the latest single from their upcoming 11th studio album ‘Dropout Boogie’, the slow-burning ‘It Ain’t Over’.Released on on April 27, the track features the writing contributions of Reigning Sound frontman Greg Cartwright, who was previously revealed as a collaborator on the album alongside Billy F. Gibbons of ZZ Top and former Kings Of Leon co-writer and producer Angelo Petraglia.The track begins at a relatively sedate pace as Dan Auerbach languidly sings “You got a love that’s a real longshot / Breakin’ the bank for your new weed spot / And she comes around, you lay your money down”.

The Black Keys are set to celebrate the 10th anniversary of their album ‘El Camino’ later this year with a new reissue.The record, which features some of the blues rock duo’s biggest hits including ‘Lonely Boy’ and ‘Gold On The Ceiling’, was released on December 6, 2011.Just ahead of the 10th anniversary on November 5, the band will reissue the album via Nonesuch Records.Formats of the anniversary release, which features a fully remastered version of the original album, include a Super Deluxe edition (5xLP/4xCD), an unreleased concert recording, a 2012 BBC Radio 1 session for Zane Lowe, a photobook, posters, prints and an air freshener.Pre-order the reissue here, and watch a trailer for the 10th anniversary edition of the album below,
