John Lennon Estate has partnered with the Lumenate app for a series of meditation mixes, developed from the musician’s 1973 track ‘Mind Games’.Unveiled today (May 1), the project has been developed to help people reach a relaxed, meditative state, and “help guide your mind into deeper states of consciousness”.In the newly transformed mixes, various sound design techniques and processes have been applied to the original 1973 recordings by late Beatles member John Lennon and, in some instances, have been enhanced with additional instrumentation from producer Sean Ono Lennon – who is also the son of Lennon and Yoko Ono.The song was written by Lennon after reading the 1972 book Mind Games: The Guide to Inner Space, by Robert Masters and Jean Houston, which offered brain training exercises to help people take a more positive outlook. FKA Twigs has revealed that she has developed her own deepfake version of herself, specifically to interact with fans online.The British singer-songwriter – whose real name is Tahliah Barnett – revealed the news of the AI development in a recent written testimony, where she explained how artificial intelligence can be used when an artist gives their consent.Deepfakes are created using artificial intelligence to make a photo or video of someone by manipulating their face or body.According to a report by Rolling Stone, the online version of the artist will go by ‘AI Twigs’, and will be rolled out later this year to help her maintain a connection with fans online while she focuses on making new music.“In the past year, I have developed my own deepfake version of myself that is not only trained in my personality but also can use my exact tone of voice to speak many languages,” she wrote in the testimony.“I will be engaging my AI Twigs later this year to extend my reach and handle my online social media interactions, whilst I continue to focus on my art from the comfort and solace of my studio.“These and similar emerging technologies are highly valuable tools both artistically and commercially when under the control of the artist.”The singer is set to put forward the testimony to the Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on Intellectual Property in Washington D.C. later today (April 30).

Massive Attack have announced the artists that will be joining them as part of the huge ‘Act 1.5′ show in Bristol this summer.Details of the homecoming gig were first shared in December, when the trip-hop collective confirmed that 2024 would see them perform at an all-day “large-scale climate action accelerator event” – celebrating 25 years of climate activism for the band.The gig will take place on August 25 at Clifton Downs in Bristol, and will mark the first performance that Robert ‘3D’ Del Naja and Grant ‘Daddy G’ Marshall have played on UK soil in five years.In keeping with the environmental theme, the event is also set to be the lowest carbon show of its size ever staged.Now, Massive Attack have announced the full run of artists that will be joining them as special guests for the all-day event.
