Most Scots believe SNP Government could do more to tackle poverty, poll finds
SNP Government could be doing more to reduce poverty across the country, a poll has found.A survey of more than 2,000 people across Scotland found 63% felt ministers could do more to help tackle poverty, while over half thought they could do more to specifically help low-income families with children. The poll, commissioned by the Joseph Rowntree Foundation, suggests political parties must respond to public concerns about social injustice ahead of May’s election. Poverty was one of the five issues most likely to be selected as a priority for the next Scottish government, alongside the NHS, the economy, jobs and employment, and education.
