Why Henry Cavill was ‘sick to his stomach’ after shooting ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ cameo
new Marvel movie as a variant of Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine named “Cavillrine.”Director Shawn Levy told the New York Times that Cavill committed to his role — so much so that the actor “was sick to his stomach” the day after filming.“I think we all were, including poor Henry Cavill, who not only had that pumped-up muscular body but kept that cigar lit and in his mouth for the entirety of the shoot day,” said Levy, 56, in the interview published Monday.“I remember hearing the next day that Henry was sick to his stomach because he had been inhaling cigar smoke for eight hours straight, but never once did he waver,” he added.Levy also revealed that part of the reason Cavill was cast in “Deadpool & Wolverine” was to play into him losing his role as Superman in the DC movies.“In the case of Henry, it was not long after everything went down with DC, and word came that Henry was being replaced as Superman,” Levy explained. He continued: “Given that Deadpool is in constant conversation with culture, it felt like a great opportunity to first of all cast Henry Cavill in a part that he would kick ass at, but also to poke fun at that other comic-book-founded movie studio and play with some self-awareness there.”Cavill broke his silence on his surprise “Deadpool 3” appearance on Instagram Tuesday.“To be safe, I shaved the moustache off for this one. Just the moustache,” he wrote, alongside a photo of his character smoking a cigar.

Ryan Reynolds trolls Jamie Lee Curtis’ MCU apology after she called the franchise ‘bad’
Ryan Reynolds is taking a stand for Jamie Lee Curtis after her recent comments about Marvel sparked controversy.“Wait, is everyone expected to apologize for slamming Marvel post-Endgame?” Reynolds, 47, questioned on X, formerly Twitter, on Thursday, following Curtis’ apology for her recent remarks about the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).The “Freaky Friday” actress, 65, initially criticized the MCU’s current phase as “bad” during an interview with MTV’s Josh Horowitz at San Diego Comic-Con.She later retracted her statement, writing on X: “My comments about Marvel were stupid and I will do better,” and said she’d reached out to Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige with a personal apology. “I’ve reached out to Kevin Feige and will no longer play in that mud slinging sandbox of competition we call the internet nor will I engage in the toilet paper promotion or game play that is designed for clicks not content or conversation,” the actress wrote. On Instagram, Curtis shared a video of her “Borderlands” co-star Kevin Hart praising her for her leadership on the set of their new film with the caption, “If I’m a leader, then a leader shouldn’t talk s–t about other collaborative art form creators.”Curtis’ comments about the MCU came amid mixed reviews of Marvel’s more recent projects, like “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” (2018) and “The Marvels,” (2023), which underperformed at the box office.
