Ryan Reynolds is taking a stand for Jamie Lee Curtis after her recent comments about Marvel sparked controversy.“Wait, is everyone expected to apologize for slamming Marvel post-Endgame?” Reynolds, 47, questioned on X, formerly Twitter, on Thursday, following Curtis’ apology for her recent remarks about the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).The “Freaky Friday” actress, 65, initially criticized the MCU’s current phase as “bad” during an interview with MTV’s Josh Horowitz at San Diego Comic-Con.She later retracted her statement, writing on X: “My comments about Marvel were stupid and I will do better,” and said she’d reached out to Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige with a personal apology. “I’ve reached out to Kevin Feige and will no longer play in that mud slinging sandbox of competition we call the internet nor will I engage in the toilet paper promotion or game play that is designed for clicks not content or conversation,” the actress wrote.On Instagram, Curtis shared a video of her “Borderlands” co-star Kevin Hart praising her for her leadership on the set of their new film with the caption, “If I’m a leader, then a leader shouldn’t talk s–t about other collaborative art form creators.”Curtis’ comments about the MCU came amid mixed reviews of Marvel’s more recent projects, like “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” (2018) and “The Marvels,” (2023), which underperformed at the box office.
