The Witcher: Monster Slayer is now out in the world, and it asks players to use augmented reality (AR) on their phones to hunt monsters from the fantasy series. The mobile title is developed and published by Spokko, a “member of the CD PROJEKT family”, and it tasks players with the Pokémon GO–like task of hunting down monsters (just not pocket ones this time) in the real world through AR camera technology.A recent trailer for the game, which fans can watch below, shows what players could end up doing.The game can be downloaded from both the Google Play and iOS App Stores.

Among Us has finally gone live.Developer InnerSloth shared the news via a new blogpost that details the new Airship level, a revised code of conduct, and a brief look into future updates for the popular game.The newly introduced Airship map is the fourth – and biggest – map to be introduced to the game. The Airship map was first announced in December last year during the Game Awards.The new map also includes new tasks such as jewel polishing and emptying trash among others.

Queen have released a new rhythm game for mobile devices.Queen: Rock Tour, which is now live on iOS and Android, is the first official Queen game to be released. The game’s release has been timed in celebration of the band’s 50th anniversary this year.Queen: Rock Tour will give players the ability to recreate bits of the band’s iconic styles, while costuming their outfits.

Call Of Duty Mobile esports player named Ingrid “Sol” Oliveira Bueno da Silva has been murdered by a fellow competitor, Guilherme “Flashlight” Alves Costa.da Silva’s body was found in Costa’s home in Pirituba, São Paulo on Tuesday, February 23. RuneScape developer Jagex has discussed the future for the MMORPG following its recent acquisition by US equity firm The Carlyle Group.Jagex CEO Phil Mansell spoke of the company and RuneScape’s future in a recent interview with GamesIndustry.biz, where he shared that he believed Jagex’s acquisition by The Carlyle Group was the right fit.“The most important thing for us was can we get to a long-term investor who really buys into the company and the things we want to be doing,” he said.

Among Us developer InnerSloth has revealed why updates for the game have been taking such a long time.The developer offered an explanation for the game’s slow update schedule in a new blogpost, where it also touched upon the game’s update timeline for 2021, upcoming features and levels. The Among Us team revealed that they did not expect the game’s sudden virality in 2020, which required them to re-shift focus back on what they thought was a complete game.In addition, Innersloth also noted that it needed extra time to set up workflows for Among Us in such a way that it would be sustainable.

Epic Games and Apple continues to heat up with more new filings from both companies.In Apple’s latest filing, a 37-page opposition brief issued on September 16, the tech giant accused Epic Games of kicking off a legal battle in order to bring attention to its battle royale game, Fortnite. Apple also stated that this was due to a 70 per cent decrease in interest for Fortnite in July 2020, as compared to October 2019.“For reasons having nothing to do with Epic’s claims against Apple, Fortnite’s popularity is on the wane,” Apple stated.

Hello Games latest game The Last Campfire has finally arrived and is available for players to download now.The developer is most notably known for its work on No Man’s Sky, the procedurally generated sci-fi adventure which has grown exponentially since its release in 2016. Epic Games has announced a new DC villain-themed DLC bundle for Fortnite, titled The Last Laugh, which is set to launch this November.The Last Laugh bundle was revealed through the Fortnite website and will set players back US$30.

Riot Games has announced that it will be rescheduling several upcoming patches and tweaking its release timeline in order to give its employees some time off.The developer revealed through a news post that starting from August 10, a majority of the company’s employees will be taking a week off to recharge and disconnect. As a result, updates for all of its games will be pushed back, although full details have yet to be released.“Riot’s taking the week of August 10 off to disconnect, recharge and reboot,” the company said.

Nintendo has launched Pokémon Café Mix, a new free-to-play puzzle game for the Nintendo Switch.The game features the player and Eevee as owners of a café that serves Pokémon-themed food and drinks. The puzzles in the game are similar to the popular Disney Tsum Tsum mobile game, and involves linking together Pokémon icons in order to clear them.The game is now available for free on Nintendo Switch, and contains some microtransactions.

Pokemon Smile is a mobile game that will motivate children to brush their teeth through gaming.The reveal was made during today’s (June 17) Pokemon Presents stream by The Pokemon Company and is out now for iOS and Android devices.The game uses the smart device camera to monitor brushing habits. Players will have to brush their teeth to defeat bacteria on the screen and cause Pokemon to appear.
