National Hispanic Media Coalition (NHMC) has announced the co-hosts and honorees for the 2024 Impact Awards Gala. Each year, the NHMC honors individuals “making an impact, shifting societal narratives, and setting an example for Latine communities.” The event is on Friday, June 14, 2024, at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills, CA, and the list is star-studded, even featuring two names that have graced our digital cover this year.

LALIGA and Platino Awards XCARET, in Riviera Maya, are teaming up again to host the IV Stars Encounter on April 18 at Camaleón Mayakoba Golf Course in Playa del Carmen. This time, proceeds will support the Integral Family Development System of Quintana Roo, in line with the charitable mission that drives each event.This edition of the “Stars Encounter” will feature numerous football legends including Miguel Angel Moya, Diego Forlán, Mario Suárez, Joaquín Sánchez, Fernando Morientes, Diego Godín, Javier Mascherano, Gaizka Mendieta, and Miguel Layún. Also participating are many talented individuals from the audiovisual and music industry, such as Jesús Mosquera, Gaby Espino, Pol Granch, Corina Smith, Bego Vargas, Andres Koi, Andre Lamoglia, Michel Brown, Ale Nones, Enrique Arce, Benjamin Vicuña, Cristo Fernandez, LAGOS, Carlos Borreguito, and Carlos Torres.The fascinating story behind the Platino AwardsThe best looks in the history of the Platino AwardsArgentinian movie icon, Cecilia Roth, to be awarded the PLATINO Honor Award 2024 According to Jorge de la Vega, CEO of LALIGA, “It is an honor for LALIGA to continue the alliance with Premios Platino, a platform that recognizes the best artists in the Ibero-American audiovisual industry, and with whom we carry out the Stars Encounter, which, in addition to mixing artists with footballers, has a charitable purpose of which we are proud to be a part.

Platino Awards is right around the corner. The yearly ceremony, which recognizes the best in film and TV in Ibero-America, will be hosted in Xcaret, Mexico on April 20th.

JBL Fest kicked off last Thursday, in Las Vegas. The launch party was attended by some of the world’s most famous celebrities, including Lenny Kravitz, Madison Beer, Ashlee Simpson, and more.

Hispanas Organized for Political Equality (HOPE) hosted their 31st Annual Latina History Day Conference in Los Angeles Friday, and they brought together hundreds of women to recognize the historic and current achievements of Latinas while embracing the rich diversity of the Latina experience. HOPE has been instrumental in securing local, county, state, and congressional officials to declare the second Friday in March (during Women’s History Month) as Latina History Day, and this year’s theme was Empower Your Inner Genius.: ‘a call to action for each Latina to share their brilliance with the world, and a celebration of the Latina thinkers, creators, and doers, past and present, who have made history and continue to shape our future.’ HOLA! USA had the opportunity to participate in the Breakfast Program which featured a panel with the Oscar-nominated film Encanto’s producer Yvett Merino, and the film’s co-writer and co-director Charise Castro Smith. The panel gave insight into their lives and was inspiring for Latinas with big dreams.
