Elsa Keslassy International Correspondent Atlas V, the Emmy-award winning VR company, is expanding into the U.S. with the strategic appointment of Michael Masukawa. The banner has just been signed by CAA and is aiming to build a presence in the U.S. Atlas was just nominated for three Emmy awards and won one with its interactive animation “Madrid Noir.” Atlas V’s track record in the North American festival circuit also includes multiple selections at Sundance’s New Frontier, Tribeca and SXSW (where it won two awards). The company also previously won two Peabody prizes and two Webby awards. Masukawa is joining Atlas V from Secret Location, an immersive content studio owned by Hasbro and eOne. At Atlas V, he will be in charge of developing partnerships, raising project financing, producing projects and negotiating distribution deals for Atlas V’s content. He will also find opportunities for sister companies Astrea and Albyon, the first being focused on distribution and the second one on development of immersive experiences.

Atlas Obscura: An Explorer’s Guide to the World’s Hidden Wonders and Gastro Obscura: A Food Adventurer’s Guide. Atlas Obscura has also expanded into the world of events, including organizing tours and presenting lectures and seminars.Three years ago, the pandemic forced the company to overhaul its events and experiences division, first and foremost by entering the virtual world and creating a whole new slew of events and experiences offered online, whether as scheduled livestreams or available on demand.The organization’s current lineup of online programming is divided into the categories Experiences and Courses.

SF Studios Acquires Johan Rundberg’s ‘Moonwind & Hoff’ Book SeriesSF Studios has acquired the film rights to Johan Rundberg’s book series Moonwind & Hoff. The series includes the novels The Night Raven, The Queen of Thieves, The Angel of Death, and The Blood Pact. The Night Raven is the first novel that will be adapted, produced, and distributed by SF Studios. The film is expected to start shooting at the beginning of 2024 with a theatrical release in 2025. Stefan H. Lindén and Alexandra Thönnersten, producers at SF Studios, said: “The Night Raven and the entire series about Moonwind & Hoff are exactly in the realm of magical realism that we both dreamed of producing. In many ways, both the world and the characters feel inspiring and exciting. We want to create a grand series of films that can enthrall cinema audiences.”

Anne Heche's ex James Tupper wants to be named guardian of their son Atlas. The late 'Donnie Brasco' star's partner James, 57, has been locked in a dispute with her and ex-husband Coleman Laffoon's son Homer Laffoon, 20, over her estate following her death in a car crash in August. Now, Us Weekly reports that Tupper has filed a new petition in an attempt to stop Homer from becoming Atlas' guardian.

Anne Heche's ex-husband James Tupper has filed paperwork in court to become the legal guardian of their 13-year-old son, Atlas Heche Tupper.According to new legal documents, obtained by ET, the 57-year-old actor filed a «petition for appointment of Guardian Ad Litem.» He's also filed a «Notice of Intent to File Objections to Homer Heche Laffoon's Petition for Letters of Administration and Competing Probate Petition.»In the docs, Tupper states Atlas «has no guardian of his estate» and that he is Atlas' father and «only living parent.» What's more, Tupper says he «loves both Homer and Atlas as a father and wants the best for them both.” And „in order to preserve family harmony and a healthy, brotherly relationship between Atlas and Homer, and given the complexity this estate will foreseeably involve, a bonded, neutral, private professional fiduciary would be a more appropriate administrator.“The first hearing on matters of the estate is scheduled for Oct. 11.Tupper and Homer have been at odds over who should control Heche's estate since she died back in August following a fiery car crash in the Mar Vista neighborhood of Los Angeles.

Anne Heche’s 20-year-old son Homer Laffoon just lost his mother, but he has had to step up to the plate and deal with legal matters. It was revealed Thursday his mother died without a will. Heche died tragically in Los Angeles on August 1 after crashing into a home.
