Susanna Reid was left trying to pour cold water on a simmering verbal altercation on Good Morning Britain as she returned to the helm.

The presenter was back fronting the ITV news programme on Monday(November 13) alongside Ed Balls. The pair were joined by political commentator Owen Jones and journalist Andrew Pierce to discuss some of the latest news headlines including the marches in London on Armistice Day (Saturday, November 10) which erupted into violence.

The two guests and former Labour MP rowed about the demonstrations live on the programme with Susanna only getting the chance to interact now and again. The truth is she did say unacceptable things which Rishi Sunak is not wanting to repeat nor was Grant Shapps yesterday." But soon, Susanna tried to quieten them down to move on to the next interview but as she did, Ed could be heard muttering: "He’s so intellectually second rate," referring to Owen.
