Susanna Reid announces break from Good Morning Britain saying 'it's my last day'

Good Morning Britain presenter Susanna Reid has announced live on air that Wednesday 11 December is her last day on the show, but that she will be back after the Christmas break.

While celebrating the success of the 1 Million Minutes campaign on the show, she confirmed to viewers it was her last day in the studio, saying: “It’s my last day, and we’ve achieved a new record.” The morning show’s 1 Million Minutes campaign aims to encourage viewers to pledge their time to charities that tackle the issues of loneliness.

Since launching in 2016, a staggering 672 million minutes of time have been donated to charities in need of volunteers who can connect with those who feel alone.

On Wednesday, Susanna was celebrating as this year's campaign hit a new record of 124 million minutes donated. She said: "Right, ending on a positive note, our amazing 1 Million Minutes campaign.
