Supermarket giant Aldi helps Lanarkshire charities by donating thousands of meals for Christmas

A leading supermarket has helped to provide Christmas cheer across Lanarkshire by donating thousands of meals to good causes.

Aldi supported local charities, community groups and food banks in Lanarkshire on Christmas Eve by donating a whopping 10,019 meals to those in need.

Working with Neighbourly, the supermarket paired up stores with local charity partners in the area to collect unsold fresh and chilled food when stores closed early on December 24, and stores will repeat the initiative on December 31.
