Princeton University (PU) scientists have reportedly made a groundbreaking discovery that could see superbugs being wiped out by a so-called “poison arrow” superbug.

The new weapon, officially known as SCH-79797 and is also known as Irresistin, is reportedly able to destroy the superbugs that have started racking up deaths across the globe.

PU’s breakthrough is being met with cautious optimism as increasing numbers of bacteria become resistant to more drugs. Among them is super-gonorrhoea, which remains inside the body even after people take antibiotics in order to eliminate it.
