An flight bound for Belfast has been forced to return to Manchester due to Storm Darragh. The easyJet flight number EZY876E, to Belfast, was travelling from Manchester Airport at around 5.30am when it suddenly turned around an hour-and-a-half into the journey.
The Manchester Evening News understands this was due to high winds from the storm. The return to Manchester Airport came one hour and 24 minutes after take off. It comes after the region was battered by strong winds and heavy rain on Thursday, amid a yellow weather alert from the Met Office.
Millions have been warned to stay indoors, thousands are without power and trains have been cancelled as the Government’s “risk to life” alert brought on by Storm Darragh came into force.
