Steven Gerrard

Steven George Gerrard MBE (born 30 May 1980) is an English professional football manager and former player who manages Scottish Premiership club Rangers.

He spent the majority of his playing career as a central midfielder for Liverpool, with most of that time spent as club captain, as well as captaining the England national team. Widely regarded as one of the greatest midfielders of all time,

Gerrard was awarded the UEFA Club Footballer of the Year award in 2005, and the Ballon d'Or Bronze Award. In 2009, Zinedine Zidane and Pelé said that they considered Gerrard to be the best footballer in the world.

Steven Gerrard admits hearing Aston Villa 's furious fans turn on him at Craven Cottage was hard to take. A section of travelling supporters chanted "we want Gerrard out" and " Steven Gerrard, get out of our club" as their side went down 3-0 to Fulham on Thursday night.

Villa had Douglas Luiz sent off in the second-half and conceded a hotly-contested penalty but their overall performance was meek on a night where they badly needed a result.

Villa have won just one of their last eight Premier League fixtures and sit above the Premier League relegation zone only on goals scored.

That form has piled the pressure on Gerrard and proved the final straw for an away section who furiously demanded the former Rangers boss be removed from his post.
