Steve Coogan Theater Play ‘Dr. Strangelove’ Sets Global Cinema Release

Naman Ramachandran The National Theatre Live’s stage adaptation of Stanley Kubrick‘s “Dr. Strangelove” is headed to global cinema screens on March 27, 2025, following its London West End run.

The production features Steve Coogan, a seven-time BAFTA winner, performing multiple roles including Dr. Strangelove, President Merkin Muffley, Group Captain Lionel Mandrake and Major T.J.

Kong. The theatrical version of Kubrick’s 1964 nuclear satire comes from the creative team of Emmy winner Armando Iannucci and Olivier Award recipient Sean Foley.

The production marks a significant reimagining of the comedy masterpiece about a rogue U.S. General who triggers a nuclear attack.
