Stephen Robinson will be delighted with his St Mirren side as they romped to a 4-0 win over beleaguered St Johnstone.Keanu Baccus, a double from Mikael Mandron and Greg Kiltie sealed a rampant win that left Steven MacLean wondering what he can do from the sidelines, with individual errors costly.

There were two changes for hosts, the suspended Ryan Strain and Toyosi Olusanya dropping out for Ryan Flynn and Mikael Mandron, with three alterations for the visitors as Diallang Jaiyesimi, who made his debut, coming in for the injured Drey Wright, with Nicky Clark and James Brown also starting.

Despite the final scoreline it was St Johnstone that had most of the possession in the first half. But they struggled to call home goalkeeper Hemming into action as has been part of their problem this season.

St Mirren midfielder Baccus lashed the ball into the net from outside the area with 10 minutes remaining in the first period and they held on to their advantage until the break.The Buddies didn’t take long in doubling their lead in the second half as Mandron took advantage of a mix up in defence to slot the ball home St Mirren killed the game off with a third goal as sub Olusanya laid it on a plate for Mandron to make it 3-0 and there was even time for for Kiltie to add a fourth before the full-time whistle as the Paisley Saints extended their third-place advantage to An international break and the effects of Storm Barbet may have separated today’s game with the 3-0 defeat to Rangers on October 8.
