Spain’s foreign affairs minister Arancha González Laya said tonight: “We are doing this out of respect to the 400,000 British citizens who have a second residence in Spain.” It is hoped Britain’s current 14-day quarantine rule will be relaxed and air bridges with other countries will be announced, allowing families to jet off on holiday from July 4.
