Spain ditches the quarantine to get ready to welcome back British tourists

Expats in Benidorm show us what we’re missing as bars in Spain get ready to welcome back Brits. The country’s officials today ­confirmed that UK nationals will be allowed to enter the country freely, without the need to self-isolate.

Spain’s foreign affairs minister Arancha González Laya said tonight: “We are doing this out of ­respect to the 400,000 British citizens who have a second residence in Spain.” It is hoped Britain’s current 14-day quarantine rule ­will be relaxed and air bridges with other countries will be announced, allowing families to jet off on holiday from July 4.
