South Lanarkshire Council are making locals aware of the support available to tackle noisy neighbours.In the region, more than 3600 domestic noise complaints were received last year, which made up almost 87 per cent of all noise complaints received by Environmental Services.A recent survey has revealed that almost 39,000 complaints about neighbour noise were made to Scottish councils in 2021, and it also shows that nine per cent of adults feel that noisy neighbours or regular loud parties are very or fairly common.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

Officers also have powers to seize any noise-making equipment.Councillor Robert Brown (Rutherglen South), chair of the community and enterprise resources committee, said: “Domestic noise can be a big annoyance to neighbours.
