Christopher Plummer has died, aged 91.The Oscar winner – who notably appeared in the Sound of Music and Knives Out – died peacefully at his Connecticut home, with wife Elaine Taylor by his side.The star’s manager, Lou Pitt, confirmed the news in a statement shared with Deadline.‘Chris was an extraordinary man who deeply loved and respected his profession with great old fashion manners, self deprecating humour and the music of words,’ he said.‘He was a National Treasure who deeply relished his Canadian roots. ‘Through his art and humanity, he touched all of our hearts and his legendary life will endure for all generations to come. ‘He will forever be with us.’Piers Morgan led tributes to the screen icon, sharing a snap of Christopher in 1965.
