Former Gunners midfielder Ljungberg returned to the north Londoners in 2018 as under-23s coach, before being promoted to the first-team staff a year later.
After former boss Unai Emery was sacked in November last year, Ljungberg was named interim head coach until Mikel Arteta was appointed on a permanent basis in September.
