The SNP has called for Scotland to be treated the same as Northern Ireland when it comes to the EU single market.Alyn Smith, the party's Europe spokesman, has written to Prime Minister Rishi Sunak to demand Scotland "accede into the same arrangements".Sunak agreed a deal with the EU on post-Brexit trading arrangements for Northern Ireland on Monday.The new deal means that Northern Ireland has access to both the UK market and the EU single market.Smith has argued that Scotland should have the same conditions as the country voted to remain in the European Union.Smith wrote in the letter: "I write to suggest that Scotland accede into the same arrangements [as Northern Ireland]."He continued: "Scotland voted to Remain in the 2016 EU Referendum by a considerably bigger margin than Northern Ireland, across every counting area...
